Fees and charges
Publication scheme
Information listed in our Publication Scheme is available free-of-charge from our websites.
Requests to the Department of Public Works for printouts or for copies of documents may attract a charge of $0.20 per page where the request exceeds 100 pages. The department will provide you with a quote for the cost, on receipt of your request. It should be noted that any charges will be payable in advance.
Formal applications under the Right to Information Act 2009
An application fee of $38.00 applies to applications made under the Right to Information Act 2009. A processing charge of $5.80 for each 15 minutes (or part thereof) may apply if it takes longer than five hours to process your application. If documents are released to you, an access charge of $0.20 per page may also apply.
If it appears that the time spent on your application will be more than five hours, you will receive written notice that a charge is payable and a charges estimate notice of the amount. You will then have 20 business days to respond in writing. Failure to respond will be treated as a deemed withdrawal of your RTI application.
Charges may be waived if an individual or non-profit organisation is concerned that the identified charges would cause a financial hardship and is able to establish on the basis of financial evidence that they are in financial hardship.
Formal applications under the Information Privacy Act 2009
Application fees do not apply to applications made under the Information Privacy Act 2009. An access charge may apply.
